Once upon a time, there lived a holy man near a river. The holy man will pray to his god every morning and afternoon by the riverside. Opposite his hut, across the river, lived a whore, whose duty was to please man with her body in exchange of money.
Everyday, whenever the holy man do his praying, he'll see men going in and out of the womans' hut. He will then thought to himself that this whore is a immoral person, that everything of her seemed so dirty. Every time he tries to picture all the unwanted acts the whore did with those man, he despise her.
In contrast, every time when the whore dries her cloth outside her hut, she will see the holy man praying to god. She had always thought what a pure and holy person he is and wished she could be as clean as the holy man. Though she was born a whore, she prayed to god restlessly hoping to cleanse her sin.
Few years later, a flood took place, and both the holy man and the whore were killed and died on the same day. Upon the arrival before the Heavens' Gate, the two faced their judgment.
To the holy mans' surprise, he was condemned by God
"But i prayed to you everyday. I loved you like no one else did." the holy man argued.
"You loved only yourself when you started to despise that women(the whore)." said the god.
"All I'd received from your prayer, were the feelings of how you looked down and despise that woman. You've let your thought run wild during your prayers and had forsaken your duty a holy man." added the god.
Surprisingly, the whore was commended by god.
"But, i'm a prostitute who sells my body to man. I'm dirty and low, i'm not fit to enter heaven." questioned the whore. "Yes, but you were born to lead to this dirty life and you have fulfilled your duties. Nevertheless, i still hear your prayers to me everyday, telling me that how much you loved me and wished you could be as clean as me. Though your body is soiled, your minds and heart are purer than all crystals that a human could ever encounter. Now you've fulfilled your dharma, it is the time you join me back in heaven." commented the god.
Leon says: In life, we can't choose how we are born. But we can always choose who we wanna be. If you born in a family full of thugs, would you let yourself become a thug too? Or be like the woman in the story, who choose to love herself and everybody else. True pureness and cleanliness doesn't come from the body only, it comes from the heart and mind of oneself.
